Rocco Mediate (67): "Since Deutsche Bank two years ago, I've been a mess, and I was trying to recover. Coming in here I was pretty excited to play. It's been a long time since I had a chance to play good."

Olin Browne (67): "I drove it pretty well. I think I hit a fair number of greens, and when I didn't hit it I missed it in the right place. It was a management day."

Lee Westwood (68): "I didn't feel too great when I got up and for this event you want to be fully fit, but I played well. Any time you shoot two under at a US Open you've got to be pleased."
